My favourite and most disastrous cooking experience had to be the time my younger sister and I decided to bake cookies.

It was the first time we were baking without our mum and we were nervous and excited about it. We rushed to the kitchen to bake the moment we were done with dinner. We got out the recipe book and were going to make double chocolate chip cookies. We started preparing the ingredients when we realised that we had no eggs left! The supermarket or market was closed already so we could not run out to get the eggs. We had no choice but to go over to the our neighbour's house to borrow some eggs from them. Our neighbour was really sweet about it and gave us 2 eggs. We thanked her and went back home to continue baking. We prepared the ingredients and wanted to mix the batter together. Then we realised that we didn't know how to use the mixer! We spent another half and hour trying to figure out how to set up the mixer and use it. But in the end, everything was fine. We mixed everything together and spooned the batter out on the tray. While I was spooning out the batter, my sister went to turn on the oven so that it could heat up. But after awhile, the oven short cicuited! Oh no, could anything else go wrong? Thank god we haven't put the trays in yet. We had no choice again but to go over to our neighbour's house to ask if we could cook the cookies at their house. Our neighbour was very nice and understanding, she welcomed us into her home without any hesitation. She even offered us cake and drinks while we were waiting for the cookies to be done.

It was an embarrassing yet fun experience and at the end of the day even after all the screw ups, we still produced delicious cookies! (:
